Who we are
Hunter’s Bagels is a family-owned bagel shop built on fresh dough, early mornings, and generations of tradition.
Owned and operated by brothers-in-law Brandon Kurz and Andrew Roth, Hunter’s Bagels blends business experience with real-deal food expertise. Brandon is a seasoned businessman passionate about building community-driven ventures. Andrew is a restaurateur with over a decade in the food industry, dedicated to perfecting simple things done exceptionally well.
But bagels aren’t new to this family.
Brandon and Andrew grew up in a family that owned a bagel shop — making them second-generation bagel guys. Bagels have been present at nearly every family gathering they can remember. Holidays, birthdays, Sunday mornings — there were always fresh bagels on the table. It’s more than food to them. It’s tradition.
After relocating to Cornelius from South Florida and falling in love with North Carolina — the people, the pace, the sense of community — they knew they wanted to build something meaningful here. Something local. Something lasting.
The spark came from a one-year-old boy named Hunter.
Uncle Andrew would make fresh bagels for his nephew Hunter, who absolutely loved tearing into them — warm, chewy, made from scratch. Watching that joy brought everything full circle. The family tradition was alive again.
So they decided to share it.
At Hunter’s Bagels, we make bagels the right way — boiled, baked, and served warm — in a space built around family, community, and really good food. What started as a family tradition is now for all of Cornelius.
